Why should I pay you when I can do it cheaper or my little brother can do it?
Well, you could. However, typically you call an A/C technician or a plumber to serve those specific needs. It would make sense to use a professional website developer the same way.

What language or code do you develop your sites?
We typically develop our websites in ASP.NET 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005. For Flash, we use Macromedia or other industry-grade software. We do support traditional HTML websites. Our websites also can include either SQL 2005 or Microsoft Access databases, XML, and CSS.

Why don't you use Microsoft FrontPage to design your websites?
FrontPage is very limited for true website development. Furthermore, usually websites will grow and sometimes need a database "backend". FrontPage can be used to help tie an MS Access database to a site; however, FrontPage does not have the built in security that a .Net website has. A major reason we use Visual Studio is we can create masterpages which can speed the process of development, which means less cost for development.

How expandable or upgradeable is my website with you?
If we designed your website, then it's never a question "can I...?" but rather simply "This is when we can deliver your upgrade and this is how much it will cost." If we did not design your site, we can usually upgrade your site...but we may have to make recommendations for your current site based partly on the needs of the upgrades and who is hosting the website.

What are your prices for your dedicated or virtual servers?
Williams Web Solutions provides world-class custom hosting. Since we provide custom server hosting based on your needs, it is rather difficult to set a price when our price is based on what features you desire; if you want to monthly, semi-annual, or annual; etc.

Why are your prices slightly higher than others?
Ever heard of the expression, "You get what you pay for". When you pay those lower prices, you get space on a server. Support is very limited if any support. Usually you have to pay for that support. Our support is included in the price of our hosting. We believe you should get excellent service at any price. Hence why we have never lost a customer due to poor service, not returning phone calls, or downtime. We intend to keep it that way.

What uptime do you guarantee?
We guarantee uptime 99.5% for both server and bandwidth. Usually if we ever are down, it's only very momentarily because we're rebooting the server.

Do you provide Linux or PHP hosting?
Usually those dirt-cheap hosting providers are giving you Linux-based hosting. If you have a few pages in HTML and no backend, Linux is fine. If you have a PHP website with a MySQL database, Linux is fine. However, the majority of sites are meant to be on Windows boxes. Hence why we host using Windows. Partly also if you compare our prices to those who also do Windows hosting (who also do similar services to us) we're about the same price (sometimes a little cheaper, sometimes a tad more).

If I have a website that has streaming audio/video or a SQL/Access database (or will have), can I host with you?
Yes, yes, and YES!

What mail server software do you use and to you check or block SPAM?
We use one of the industry's best and oddly less heard Mail Enable Enterprise Edition. To help provide the best quality service, we make sure our mail server software stays up to date within an allowance of time between the version updates. We use MX Scan and Mail Enable's SPAM filtering to filter SPAM, backscatter, and more.
